Slip'n'slide

Lounging

It is way too hot for Ezzie to be outside today. She has spent the day alternating between air conditioner vents, whichever is closest to her boy.

R.I.P. Little Pig

Ezzie has figured out that when she goes potty outside, she gets a click and treat. She loves loves loves to get the click and treat. Now when she goes potty, she spreads it out over several minutes, peeing for brief periods, thus maximizing the opportunities for treats. She always waits until I'm looking before she goes because she's figured out that if I'm not looking, there will be no treat. Genius!

The pig was a great toy, but unfortunately not very durable.

Ezzie loves to play catch and she almost always brings the ball back!

Father's Day

Getting ready for the ride to Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Stealing toys from Sally. This pig rocks. It makes a snorting sound when Ezzie plays with it. Grandma let her take it home because it scares their little dog.

Gonna get that pig!

Pretty puppy

So tired!

Ezzie has been checking out the big dogs next door.

It's hard work running with the big dogs!

Really hard work!

A day of playing is hard on little girls too!

Puppy Pet Toy Review

1.       Dawn detergent cup – very durable, lightweight and seemingly defies the laws of gravity when being chased, makes a hollow sound as it’s ricocheting off the floor.  Bonus points for putting kitty on high alert.
2.       Skull candy headphones – nice and rubbery, thin, colorful, easy to grind with teeth.  Bonus points for having two wires, one leading to each ear bud.  Triple points for transforming into two toys with one quick nibble.   Penalty for being a one-time use toy.
3.       Apple iPhone UBS cord – pleasant texture, adequate length for proper jaw grip, but misleading because although identified as produce, citrus flavor is absent.
4.       LG cell phone charger cord – not nearly as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as an Apple cord, nor as appealing to the palate.   Discovered and discarded almost immediately.
5.       All toys with labels that indicate “for dogs” -  Boring, boring, boring.
6.       All toys with labels that indicate “for cats”  - Moderately amusing.  Interest increases if kitty expresses a desire to play with said toy.

A princess and her puppy

Madeline found a great steal at a garage sale this past weekend. It's a few sizes too big, but she was not dissuaded in the least. Every princess needs a flowing purple velvet gown in her wardrobe, don't you agree? It's entirely appropriate for a morning walk with Miss Esmeralda Sky.

Secretly, I am very pleased about the find because it will look perfect in a scrap quilt someday!

Please take special note of the decorative sleeves.

Show's Over

Poor Ezzie! It's tough keeping up with this crowd.

A Sunday Evening stroll

Out for our evening walk. Boo on Petsmart for closing fifteen minutes before we arrived! Good thing the park doesn't close.

What's yours is mine

Somebody forgot to tell Ezzie the green treat ball is a CAT toy!

Wet dog!

First bath at new home

Ezzie did great in the bathtub. She was less than pleased about the blow dryer, but she was a good sport about it and allowed me to get her nice and fluffy. Now she's all tired out and ready for a nap.

Worn out from the day's adventures

Ezzy had a great day at the park. She met a few new dogs, and there were lots of kids that wanted to pet her.  She loves being around people.  She's pretty much tuckered out though.

She's also getting very good at her commands.  We are training her using a clicker.  She has become quite adept at the following commands:  sit, down, up and come.  We are working on:  stay, dead dog, lay down and "bang bang."  Bang bang is a fun little game where I pretend to shoot her and say "bang bang!"  She drops down like she's been shot and then goes into dead dog position.  Too cute!

Ezzie's well-baby check

Ezzie's first trip to the vet was a success.  JP accompanied me and helped to calm Ezzie.  She enjoyed watching the parade of dogs that also had visits with the vet.  When it was her turn, she happily allowed for examination.  Of course she needed shots (Yuck!).  She also got her preventative medication for heart guard and fleas and ticks.  We even got a toothbrush and finger toothbrush.  I've never actually brushed a dog's theeth before, be we're willing to give it a go!

Here's JP at the vet with Ezzie
